OCTOBER

  • A welcoming 4-week series designed to introduce you to the practice of yoga, whether you have never stepped onto a yoga mat before, or you are looking to reconnect with your yoga practice.

Over four weeks, we’ll explore and build our practice together, with each class expanding on what we’ve explored before. We’ll learn foundational yoga poses and movements, develop awareness of the body and breath, and begin to understand how we can use yoga as a practice of listening, connecting, and turning inward.

While we will learn a lot about the physical practice of yoga, throughout the series, we’ll also explore some of the deeper practices and ideas of yoga—how we relate to ourselves, how we cultivate awareness and presence, and how our practice can shape the way we move through and relate to the world around us.

There’s no experience needed, and we actually encourage all who commit to this series to come in with an open mind, open to the wonder and potential of what this journey could hold. Come exactly as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to explore.

This series is created and taught by a variety of Awen’s yoga teachers, giving you the opportunity to experience different perspectives, approaches, and teaching styles throughout the series.

This is a 4-week series and registration/ commitment is required for the full 4-week series, as each class builds upon the previous one. This is an ongoing offering, so if you miss registration for the current series, stay tuned for the next opportunity to join!

    Fall Series:
    Wednesday October 7th, 7-8pm
    Wednesday October 14th, 7-8pm
    Wednesday October 21st, 7-8pm
    Wednesday October 28th, 7-8pm

Space is limited to 8 students per series so that we can offer plenty of individual attention, answer questions, and support each student as they build their practice.
Pricing: $60 for the 4-class series, or included in all memberships. Those using a membership must still register for the series through the website.
Registration closes Wednesday September 23rd at 10am, or when the series is full.

To register for series, book this first class. Once you are registered for the series, you will recieve and email and will be signed up for all subsequent classes in the series.

    Practice Intensity:   Gentle to Moderate
Experience:   For total beginners, or those reconnecting with their practice
Focus:   Movement · Breath · Alignment · Awareness · Connection

  • This functional movement class is designed to help you understand your body, build strength, improve mobility, and move with greater ease and confidence in everyday life. Drawing from functional movement training and other movement modalities, we’ll use resistance bands, strength exercises, mobility work, balance training, and body awareness practices to explore how your body moves and what it needs. This is not a yoga class, but rather a mobility and movement training class.

We will work to build a deeper connection to the muscles in your body, help develop proprioception, and learn how to notice the subtleties of your body. We’ll explore how muscles work as they shorten and lengthen, how to engage them effectively, and how to gently improve range of motion, strength, and stability. This is a whole-body training, working to support everyday movement, and maintain strength and balance as you age.

This series is created and taught by a certified personal trainer and is intentionally limited to 8 students. The small group allows for individualized attention and plenty of one-on-one instruction, helping you better understand your own body and movement patterns.

This is a 4-week series that occurs twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a total of eight 30-minute classes.

Registration is required for the full 4-week series, as each class builds upon the previous one. This is an ongoing offering, so if you miss registration for the current series, stay tuned for the next opportunity to join.
