STUDIO ETIQUETTE

A few ways we can care for this space, our practice, and one another.

Awen is a shared space. These simple considerations help us create an environment where everyone can settle in and feel at home.

Arrive Early
Give yourself a few extra minutes to arrive, check in, and settle onto your mat. Please arrive a few minutes before class, our doors close at the start of class so we can all start together.

Respect the quiet
Please keep voices and tones low in the studio, particularly after class. Please do introduce yourself and connect with others, we simply ask that we preserve a peaceful atmosphere.

Disconnect to Connect

Please silence phones and watches (including vibrations) and leave them in the entry space before entering the studio. Let this be an opportunity to step away from the noise of the outside world and be here.

Your Stuff
Please leave your keys, phones, bags, shoes, etc. in the entryway during class. We welcome closed bottles in the studio, please leave any food or sticky drinks outside of the studio.

Respect Everyones Space
Find a place in the studio that you’ll feel comfortable, and please be sure to leave plenty of space between your mat and your neighbors. Please be aware of your neighbors space and do not step on or walk on or across other mats or props at any time.

Stay till the End
We ask that you stay till the end of class to avoid disturbing others. If you must leave practice early, please let your instructor know before the start of class. If you have an emergency during class, please let us know.

Respect Savasana
During our yoga classes, the last 10-15 minutes of class are reserved for our final rest. Please respect the quiet during this time and minimize any distractions or movement. Of course if you have an emergency, please do what you need.

Honor your practice
Yoga is not a performance or a competition. Listen to your body, take rest when you need it, and remember that your practice may look different from someone else's. You are always welcome to modify, pause, or choose a different variation.

Care for the shared space
Please treat the studio and its belongings with care. Please wipe down any studio equipment that you used with the provided spray and towels, and then return it to its storage location. Used towels can go in the bin by the archway.

Kindness
We ask that you practice respect and patience in our space – both with other classmates and with our teachers. Be gentle with yourself, and one another.

Give yourself permission to leave
If you need to step out of class for any reason, please do. Your body and your needs come first. If possible, exit quietly and return when you are ready.
Most importantly…
There is no perfect way to practice yoga.
Come curious.
Come gently.
Come exactly as you are.
We are glad you are here.
